The Transborder Indigenous People (TIP) announced today their opposition to the termination of the Free Movement Regime (FMR) and the construction of border fences in Naga areas.
TIP, an organization representing the cross-border Naga community, includes Nagas residing in both Myanmar and India.
The organization’s primary objective is to maintain and strengthen family ties among the Naga people across the international boundary.
During a meeting in Ukhrul on Thursday, TIP deliberated on democratic methods to urge the governments of India and Myanmar not to further divide the Naga family.
Seth Shatsang and Leiyolan Vashum serve as the coordinators of TIP.
