Beau Lamarre-Condon, an off-duty police officer, appeared in the Waverley Local Court, charged with two counts of murder in connection to the mysterious disappearance of Sydney couple Jesse Baird and Luke Davies.
Lamarre-Condon, 28, maintained a stoic demeanor as the court heard the murder charges during the Friday afternoon session. The alleged murders took place “between 12:01 am and 5:30 pm on the 19th February 2024 at Paddington,” as per court documents.
The missing couple, Baird, a former TV presenter, and his partner Davies, 29, were last seen at Baird’s Paddington residence. According to police, a projectile discharged from a gun was found, and a white van allegedly used to transport the bodies was located at Grays Point in Sydney’s south.
Constable Lamarre-Condon is scheduled to reappear in court on April 23. A crime scene has been established in Newcastle, linked to the alleged murders. Cadaver dogs and forensic vans are on-site in Lambton, a Newcastle suburb, where the accused’s rental van was allegedly parked on Thursday night.

Lamarre-Condon turned himself in at Bondi Police station on Friday morning, following a late-night search warrant execution at Waite Avenue in Balmain. The police expressed “grave concerns” for the men after discovering a significant amount of blood in Baird’s Brown Street home.
Detective Superintendent Daniel Doherty revealed that a projectile, likely discharged from a gun, was found, and the firearm, allegedly involved, was located in a safe at a police station. A white van used to transport the bodies was discovered in Grays Point, hired on Monday evening.
Former colleagues of Baird reportedly received text messages from his phone on Tuesday evening, but the phone’s usage remains under investigation. Police seized a wallet, phone, credit card, keys, and other items from the Balmain home for forensic examination.
Forensic testing of the blood found at the crime scene is ongoing, and no match to any individual has been established yet. Witnesses reported hearing shouting and a verbal argument on Monday morning.
The missing couple has not been officially seen since they were last located at the eastern suburbs property, now designated as a crime scene. Social media posts showed Baird and Davies attending a Pink concert in Sydney on Sunday and smiling on a wine tour in the Hunter Valley earlier in the month.
Residents in the vicinity expressed their concerns, describing the situation as “confronting.” Ms. Garrels, a neighbor, said, “It’s a little bit scary that it’s only two doors down. It’s a bit confronting to be honest. I just hope they’re ok.”
Police are urging anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
