Two unidentified individuals riding bikes fired shots at Ms. Mahalaxmi Pharmacy in Thangal Bazar yesterday at approximately around 6 pm,
In response to the attack, all pharmacies in Thangal Bazar and Paona Bazar closed their doors today.
However, pharmacies in other areas, such as RIMS Road, remained operational.
In the meantime, the Unemployed Pharmacists Association of Manipur (UPAM) strongly condemned the gunfire at Ms. Mahalaxmi Pharmacy. The association urged everyone involved not to engage in similar actions.
Expressing deep concern about the distribution of medications to unlicensed individuals by wholesalers, the unauthorized transportation of medications, and the monopolization of medications by certain entities, UPAM urgently requested the relevant authorities to address these unethical and unlawful practices.
UPAM also announced its intention to monitor such unethical and unlawful practices.
