In a coordinated operation, security forces apprehended an NSCN (IM) militant in the vicinity of Laktong in Changlang district.
Based on actionable intelligence, the joint operation involved personnel from the 31 Assam Rifles and state police. The mission led to the arrest of the militant, identified as self-styled sergeant Wangmun Khimhun, who hails from Yanman village in Khimyong.
Authorities confirmed that Khimhun is an active member of the NSCN (IM) outfit. He has been handed over to the Changlang police station for further interrogation and legal proceedings.
