RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat highlighted the urgent need to address the ongoing conflict in Manipur, emphasizing that the state has been yearning for peace for the past year. Speaking at an event in Nagpur, Maharashtra, Bhagwat asserted that resolving the Manipur issue should be a top priority.
“Manipur has been waiting for peace for a year. The state enjoyed a decade of calm, but recently, gun violence has surged. It’s crucial to resolve this conflict immediately,” Bhagwat stated, marking his first public comment on the election results and the situation in Manipur.
Bhagwat criticized election campaign strategies, noting that they often overlooked the risk of escalating tensions between opposing groups. He mentioned that even organizations like the RSS were inadvertently drawn into the conflict narrative. “During the campaigning, no one avoided propaganda that could worsen the conflict between the groups. Organizations like Sangh were also pulled into it,” he added.
Furthermore, Bhagwat lamented the lack of decorum in the election process, asserting that a certain dignity should be maintained during elections, which was not observed in this case.
The RSS chief’s remarks call on political leaders and organizations to prioritize resolving the conflict in Manipur, emphasizing the need for peace and stability in the region.
