Congress leader Rahul Gandhi addressed party President Mallikarjun Kharge regarding the freezing of the party’s bank accounts. As the Enforcement Directorate (ED) took action amid ongoing investigations, Gandhi’s response underscored a resolute stance.

In a meeting with Kharge, Rahul Gandhi reportedly conveyed a sense of resilience, stating, “Dekhi jayegi” (we’ll see). This statement reflects the party’s determination to face the legal challenges posed by the ED’s actions. The freezing of the accounts has significantly impacted the party’s financial operations, raising concerns over the continuation of their day-to-day activities and payment of staff.

The ED’s move is part of a broader investigation into alleged money laundering activities linked to the National Herald case. The agency had previously questioned senior Congress leaders, including Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi, as part of this probe.

The Congress party has criticized the actions as politically motivated, accusing the ruling government of using investigative agencies to target opposition leaders. The party has vowed to challenge the freeze and continue its political and legal battle against what it terms as an unjust and arbitrary action.

The development has added to the existing tensions between the Congress and the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), highlighting the ongoing political strife and the high-stakes nature of the investigations being conducted by central agencies.
