Law enforcement’s proactive measures in Basugaon, Chirang, led to the apprehension of three Kamtapur Liberation Organisation (KLO) members ahead of elections.
The arrested individuals, identified as Robin Barman (known as Lankeshwar Koch or Lambu), Utpal Roy (alias Pankaj Koch), and Dhananjay Barman, were taken into custody following a preemptive raid.
Critical information provided by the detained KLO members aided authorities in uncovering a concealed bomb near Basugaon, averting a potential disaster.
The police operation, prompted by intelligence inputs, unfolded with a raid on a Basugaon hotel, resulting in the successful capture of the KLO operatives.
Subsequent efforts by law enforcement led to the recovery of the buried explosive device from the vicinity of Champabati River in Kachudola village.
Authorities suspect the KLO members intended to carry out subversive activities ahead of the elections, emphasizing the commitment of law enforcement to ensuring public safety and safeguarding the democratic process.
