    Manipur State Forces Get a Raise: Allowances Increased for Security Personnel

    The Manipur government, led by Chief Minister N Biren Singh, has recently taken a substantial and commendable stride to bolster the state’s security infrastructure. This strategic initiative involves a noteworthy increase in allowances for key components of the security apparatus, specifically targeting the Manipur Police Commando and state forces stationed in areas deemed vulnerable to various security threats.

    Chief Minister N Biren Singh, making the announcement through social media channels, underscored the government’s unwavering commitment to prioritizing the welfare of the dedicated security personnel who serve as the frontline defenders of the state. With immediate effect, the allowance for Manipur Police Commando is set to experience a substantial rise of Rs 5000. Concurrently, state forces deployed in vulnerable areas will witness a commendable increment of Rs 3000 in their allowances. This proactive decision reflects the government’s recognition of the challenging and invaluable contribution made by these brave individuals in maintaining the state’s security.

    The announcement follows a deliberative meeting of the Manipur Cabinet, where various pressing issues were discussed.     In addition to the allowance increments, Chief Minister N Biren Singh presided over a comprehensive meeting at the state Secretariat, focusing on formulating renewed strategies to combat the persistent issue of illegal drug cultivation. The meeting witnessed the active participation of key stakeholders, including representatives from the Manipur Police Department, NCB, NAB, Forest Department, MARSAC, and Forensic Science.     The primary objective of this meeting was to reaffirm the government’s commitment to addressing the menace of illegal poppy cultivation, a longstanding issue in the region.
