Manipur MLA Kh Joykisan has announced plans to address illegal parking in public areas during the upcoming legislative session.
At his Khoyathong residence in Imphal West, Joykisan addressed concerns over misinformation about relief camp volunteers allegedly tampering with parked vehicles.
Detailing the incident, Joykisan reported that three vehicles obstructed a relief camp entrance, preventing a water tanker from delivering supplies. Volunteers punctured the vehicles’ tires to alert the owners.
With the assistance of the SP of Imphal West, the vehicles were removed the next day, though local residents caused a disturbance.
Joykisan recounted that these individuals later entered the relief camp and vandalized a vehicle belonging to a displaced person.
Approximately 14 children fainted during the chaos and required medical attention at RIMS.
Joykisan highlighted the lack of legislation to address illegal parking and pledged to propose laws during the upcoming legislative session.
He also mentioned that CM Biren would address issues facing displaced persons in relief camps.
Furthermore, reports emerged of miscreants threatening residents of Thangal Bazar at night. Joykisan warned against such behavior and assured residents of increased security measures.
