Manipur Chief Minister N. Biren Singh has asserted that foreign entities are involved in the state’s ongoing ethnic unrest, following the arrest of a militant from the Kuki National Army (KNA-B). The arrested militant reportedly disclosed plans to destabilize the region, indicating foreign influence in the activities.

The arrest occurred during a security operation aimed at curbing the violence between the Meitei and Kuki communities. The detained militant’s confession reportedly unveiled a strategy orchestrated by foreign actors to incite further chaos in Manipur. Authorities are currently verifying the militant’s claims and are investigating the extent of external involvement.

Manipur has been experiencing significant ethnic strife, primarily between the Meitei and Kuki groups. The conflict has led to numerous casualties and displacement of people. The government has been actively working to restore peace and order, deploying additional security forces and initiating dialogue between the conflicting communities.

Chief Minister Singh has called for heightened vigilance and cooperation among the local populace to thwart any external attempts to destabilize the region. He emphasized the importance of unity and resilience in the face of such threats. The state government is also seeking assistance from central authorities to bolster security measures and ensure the safety of its citizens.

The allegations of foreign involvement add a complex dimension to the already volatile situation in Manipur. If substantiated, these claims could lead to significant diplomatic and security repercussions. The government is expected to intensify its counter-insurgency operations and strengthen border security to prevent any foreign infiltration.

As investigations continue, the state government urges the public to remain calm and cooperate with authorities. The revelation of foreign interference in Manipur’s ethnic conflict underscores the need for a comprehensive and coordinated approach to address the underlying issues and restore lasting peace in the region.
