Robertson Ashem, the director of CAF and PD, stated that the alleged confiscation of NFSA rice from Sawombung FCI Depot by Kshetrigao MLA and his supporters is a blatant violation of the election model code of conduct.
Speaking to the press at the DIPR office in Imphal, Ashem urged the immediate return of the confiscated rice to the department, emphasizing the disruption and inconvenience caused by these actions.
He described how the confiscation occurred while department officials were diligently distributing the rice through official channels, highlighting the audacity of the MLA and his supporters’ actions.
Furthermore, he disclosed that the department has taken decisive action by filing an FIR in connection with the incident, indicating the seriousness of the situation and the department’s commitment to upholding the rule of law.
