A grenade exploded outside the residence of Dr. Amit in Bamon Leikai, Imphal East District, around 8:00 pm on Tuesday, causing widespread panic among residents.
The explosion, caused by a hand grenade, completely destroyed a nearby four-wheeler. An additional unexploded grenade was found at the scene.
Upon being informed of the incident, police officials promptly arrived to secure the area and initiate an investigation. The Manipur Police Bomb Disposal Squad was deployed to safely defuse the unexploded grenade, preventing any further danger.
The motive and the perpetrators behind the attack remain unknown as the investigation continues.
