The charges against Colin Gray stem from his admission that he bought his son an AR-15 style rifle as a Christmas gift, which was used in the shooting. This purchase occurred despite a previous FBI investigation in May 2023, which involved online threats related to a potential school shooting. At that time, both father and son denied any involvement, and no further legal action was taken due to insufficient evidence.
The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are working to determine the exact motives behind the shooting. Classes at Apalachee High School have been suspended, and the community is mourning the loss of the victims.
