    Drugs and Detonators Confiscated in a Joint Mission in Myanmar

    Mizoram Police and Assam Rifles confiscated a significant amount of heroin, gelatin sticks, and detonators. The operation, overseen by Gavit Gogna, IPS, SDPO of Champhai, led to successful seizures in Zokhawthar’s border region.

    Under SDPO Gogna’s supervision, law enforcement teams executed coordinated efforts, resulting in two major seizures.

    198 soap cases, containing 2.393 kilograms of heroin, were seized from two individuals, B. Liansanga (45 yrs) and R. Malsawmthara (35 yrs). The narcotics, valued at approximately ₹71,79,000, were being transported from Myanmar to Zokhawthar in a Tata Yodha Pickup vehicle registered under B. Liansanga’s name. Both individuals have been arrested, and a case has been filed at the Zokhawthar Police Station.

    Moreover, a couple, Biakrema (29 yrs) and Ramthazuali (28 yrs), were found with 110 gelatin sticks weighing 14.084 kilograms and 110 detonators. The couple, residents of Tiau Khawmawi village in Chin state, Myanmar, were attempting to transport these items from Zokhawthar to the Myanmar side using a Kenbo 125 Myanmar Scooty owned by them. A case has been registered at the Zokhawthar Police Station regarding this seizure.
