The Communist Party of India (CPI) National Council has urged the immediate resignation of Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh, citing his failure to address the ongoing violence and law and order issues in the state.
The CPI National Council passed a resolution condemning the BJP-led government in Manipur for its inability to restore peace and normalcy in the state. The party also expressed its opposition to the new criminal laws, which it claims are aimed at “suppressing the democratic rights of the people”.
The CPI accused the state government of failing to take effective measures to address the ongoing violence, which has resulted in the loss of innocent lives and displacement of people. The party also alleged that the government has failed to initiate any meaningful dialogue to resolve the crisis.
The CPI National Council’s resolution demands the immediate resignation of Chief Minister Biren Singh and the formation of a new government that can restore peace and stability in the state. The party also urged the Central government to intervene in the matter and ensure the protection of the people’s democratic rights.
