In the early hours of Saturday, powerful explosions were reported at three Pakistani air bases, including the strategically significant Nur Khan Airbase near Islamabad. Concurrently, multiple blasts were heard over Srinagar in Indian-administered Jammu and Kashmir, signaling a potential escalation in the ongoing hostilities between India and Pakistan.

The incidents occurred amid heightened tensions following India’s recent military operation, codenamed “Operation Sindoor,” targeting alleged terrorist infrastructure within Pakistan. The Pakistani government responded by closing its airspace to all civilian and military flights, a move indicating the severity of the situation.

The explosions at the Pakistani air bases were significant, with Nur Khan Airbase, located near the capital, being among the affected sites. The nature and extent of the damage remain unconfirmed, and there have been no official statements from Pakistani authorities regarding casualties or the cause of the blasts.

In Srinagar, the capital of Jammu and Kashmir, multiple explosions were heard during a live news broadcast, underscoring the volatile situation in the region. The source of these explosions has not been officially identified, and no casualties have been reported at this time.

The Pakistani government’s decision to shut down its airspace follows a series of military engagements between the two nations. India’s “Operation Sindoor,” launched earlier this week, involved precision strikes on locations within Pakistan identified as terrorist hubs. The operation was in retaliation for a recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, which resulted in significant civilian casualties.

In response to India’s military actions, Pakistan has vowed to retaliate, with its military leadership stating that any further aggression will be met with “full force.” The international community has expressed concern over the escalating conflict, urging both nations to exercise restraint and engage in dialogue to prevent further deterioration of regional stability.

As of now, both countries remain on high alert, with increased military presence along their shared borders. The situation continues to develop, and further updates are expected as more information becomes available.
