The Assam Rifles took action on Sunday, dismantling a suspected training camp in General Area Pengpalep, Tengnoupal district, along the Lokchao River, according to a statement from IGAR (South).
Two teams initiated the mission based on credible intelligence. The operation proceeded smoothly as both teams meticulously searched the area, establishing cordons and conducting thorough searches.
While the insurgents had fled the camp, evidence of their training was found, including a firing range, obstacle course, and temporary bamboo structures.
All structures, including unoccupied bunkers, were swiftly demolished to prevent future use by insurgents.
A significant cache of weapons and ammunition, including improvised grenade launchers and IEDs, was recovered and handed over to the Moreh Police Station for legal action.
