In response to the escalating flood crisis in Manipur, the Assam Rifles have initiated Operation Jal Rahat II on July 3. The operation aims to reinforce riverbanks and prevent residential areas from being inundated, offering crucial flood mitigation during the ongoing monsoon season.
Assam Rifles troops have been actively deployed in Singjamei, Imphal East, rescuing individuals trapped by rising waters and providing essential medical assistance. Concurrently, efforts to strengthen riverbanks are underway in both Imphal West and East districts, striving to shield vulnerable communities from the floodwaters.
To optimize coordination and response, Flood Control Rooms have been established at Keithelmanbi and Chingmeirong. These centers are pivotal in managing rescue operations, distributing aid, and monitoring real-time flood conditions.
The Assam Rifles affirm their commitment to safeguarding the lives and well-being of Manipur’s residents through Operation Jal Rahat II. The operation has already recorded significant progress in rescuing flood-stranded individuals and delivering critical medical aid.
