In a significant development, the Dhanamanjuri University (DMU) meeting has approved the results of the staff recruitment process, paving the way for the appointment of teaching and non-teaching personnel. The decision comes amidst intense protests by the student union, which has been demanding the declaration of results and the appointment of a new vice-chancellor.

According to sources, the meeting, held on July 18, reached a consensus on the recruitment results, following a thorough review of the selection process. The approved list of qualified professors will now be forwarded to the select committee for the appointment of the new vice-chancellor.

The student union, while welcoming the development, has reiterated its demand for the issuance of the appointment letter for the new vice-chancellor. “We will continue our protests until our demands are met,” said a student leader.

The university has also announced plans to conduct the sixth-semester examinations shortly, with results expected by August 20.

The breakthrough in the DMU syndicate meeting is seen as a positive step towards resolving the impasse that has been affecting the university’s academic calendar. The appointment of new staff and a vice-chancellor is expected to bring a sense of stability and normalcy to the institution, benefiting both students and faculty members.

However, the student union’s continued protests highlight the need for a comprehensive resolution that addresses their concerns and ensures a smooth functioning of the university. The situation is being closely monitored, and efforts are being made to find a solution to the crisis.
