The Khwairamband Ima Keithel Joint Coordinating Committee for Peace (KIKJCCP) has strongly condemned CAF&PD Minister L Susindro’s controversial statement that “women are liars”. The women’s body, comprising vendors from Khwairamband Ima Market, demanded that the Minister correct his “moral character” and retract his statement.

The committee’s Convenor, Laishram Mema, also criticized Prime Minister Modi’s silence on the Manipur crisis, saying his lack of response has made him a “mute spectator” in the eyes of the people. She further questioned Minister Susindro’s claim that some social media handles can be bought to spread propaganda, asking him to reveal any such handles he may have.

The women’s body also cautioned the Minister against criticizing the “Imas” who have been at the forefront of protecting Manipur’s territorial integrity and boundary. They advised him to be more mindful of his statements and actions, especially in the ongoing Legislative Assembly session.

The incident has sparked widespread outrage, with many calling for Minister Susindro’s resignation. The women vendors have vowed to continue speaking out against injustice and demanding accountability from the state’s leaders.
