In a tragic incident unfolding at Khagempalli Pankha Nganappi Thong Mamang, under Singjamei Police Station in Imphal West, Manipur, a man fatally stabbed his wife around 10 am on Monday.
The deceased, identified as Heikrujam ongbi Pishakmacha, 56, was reportedly embroiled in a morning altercation with her husband.
Bijoy, the spouse, employed as an ‘arangpham’ (ceremonial organizer) and a ‘maiba’, allegedly wielded a knife, inflicting a fatal wound on her abdomen. Despite immediate transport to Asian Hospital at Kwakeithel, she succumbed to her injuries. Subsequently, Singjamei Police took Bijoy into custody.
Pishakmacha leaves behind two sons and three daughters. Her body has been transferred to RIMS mortuary for further procedures.
