Imphal West District Police have detained 15 individuals in connection with thefts from the NIT institution in Langol and various Kuki homes in the Langol area over the past two days.
The apprehended individuals include Wangkhem Tomba, 45, son of the late W Hira from Kharasom Awang Leikai, Imphal East; Thokchom Sanjoy Singh, 39, son of Th Eto Singh from Gwaltabi Maning Leikai; Sagolsem Naresh Singh, 35, son of S Radhamohan Singh from Khundrakpam Awang Leikai; Khaidem Nanao Singh, 36, son of Kh Nabakeshor Singh from Oksu Maning Leikai; Achoibam Jiban Singh, 49, son of the late A Ngangba from Nongpok Sanjembam Sangsabi; Moirangthem Gopeshor, 33, son of M Suranjoy Singh from Tentha Khangbam Mayai Leikai; and Khangembam Naoba Singh, 27, son of Kh Joy Singh from Samaram Maning Leikai.
The remaining detainees are Khangabam Amarjeet Singh, 23, son of Kh Joy from Samaram Maning Leikai; Usham Yaima, 47, son of U Pukhao Singh from Ahallup; Naorem Chingkhei Meitei, 40, son of N Amusana Meitei from Pukhao Ahallup, Makha Leikai; Sarungbam Sanathoi, 38, son of S Brajamani from Pukhao Ahallup; Moirangthem Amarjit Singh, 32, son of M Hemo Singh from Pukhrambam Pukhao Ahallup; Thokchom Shyam, 43, son of Th Tollapishak from Pukhao Naharup; Tourangbam Bumeshor, 45, son of T Tombisana from Pukhao Khabam; and Sagolsem Romen, 38, son of Lukhoi Meitei from Pukhao Ahallup.
These arrests are linked to FIR no. 360(5)2024 LPL-PS, under sections 454 (house-breaking), 379 (theft), and 120-B (criminal conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), along with section 3 of the Prevention of Damage to Public Property Act (PDPP).
