Security forces in Manipur have apprehended two individuals suspected of affiliation with UNLF(K) on May 8, according to police reports on May 10.
The suspects, identified as Huidrom Jitanjit Singh, aged 36, and Ningtham Oinam, aged 43, had various items seized from their possession upon arrest. These items included Rs.1,17,360 in cash, 40 live rounds, two walkie-talkies, 20 grams of a substance believed to be heroin, a gold chain, a gold ring, and other miscellaneous items.
Meanwhile, security forces conducted search operations and exercised control over fringe and vulnerable areas in hill and valley districts.
To ensure secure transportation, heightened security measures were implemented, with the movement of 192 and 204 vehicles along NH-37 and NH-2, respectively, facilitated. Additionally, 125 Nakas/Checkpoints were established across different districts of Manipur, covering both hill and valley areas. This led to the detention of 98 individuals for various violations by the police.
