Manipur State Power Company Limited (MSPCL), Transmission Division no 1, Lamphelpat, issued a statement on Wednesday regarding the collapse of three HT towers along the 400 KV PGCI (Yurembam) to Thoubal line. Additionally, two HT towers on the same line sustained structural damage due to a potent cyclone that occurred around 3 pm.
Deputy General Manager Kh Davidkumar Singh, in the release, highlighted that the 132 KV Thoubal-Kakching D/C line also suffered damage at multiple locations as a consequence of the cyclone. Consequently, areas including Kakching, Churachandpur, Moreh, Chandel, and Elangkangpokoi will experience a disruption in power supply.
The release further mentioned that the restoration of the damaged towers and line will require a significant amount of time. It expressed sincere regret for any inconvenience caused to the general public and consumers.
