The Federation of Civil Societies Organization (FOCS) together with 13 additional Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) proclaimed the 3rd of May as ‘Manipur gi Puwarida Amamba Numit’ and urged the populace to commemorate it annually on the aforementioned date.

Addressing the press at the office of Manipur Women’s Federation in Imphal, Th Manihar, the president of FOCS, underscored the forthcoming arrangement of various programs and gatherings in alignment with the designated observance.

“The strife that has enveloped the region since the previous year will endure as a somber chapter in the annals of Manipur. Numerous lives have been forfeited, with multitudes still seeking refuge in camps, bereft of a place to call home,” he articulated.

He asserted that FOCS, in conjunction with the 13 other CSOs, had collectively decided to mark this day in commemoration of the myriad sufferings and devastation that have transpired since May of 2023.

He emphasized that the observance shall serve as a poignant reminder for the forthcoming generation to exercise prudence and discern the authentic adversaries of Manipur.

He implored all denizens of Manipur to adorn their vehicles with somber black flags and unfurl the same emblem at their respective domiciles on the momentous occasion.
