Air Canada just introduced a cool bag tracking feature for flights to and from the U.S. Now, they’ve also added push notifications. That means, if you use Air Canada, your phone will give you timely updates when they load your checked bag or mobility aid onto the plane.
This new feature is part of the Air Canada mobile app. It lets you track your baggage or mobility aids in real-time during your journey. This way, you know exactly where your stuff is and feel more confident about your trip.
Tom Stevens, VP of Customer Experience and Operations Strategy at Air Canada, says, “We know our customers want their bags and mobility aids delivered promptly. We already do a great job, but we want to make it even better. So, we added a new tracking feature to the Air Canada app. Now, customers get real-time info, more certainty about their belongings, and extra convenience.”
On the app, you can track your bags using the same tag scanning info Air Canada staff uses at every stage. Initially, this program was for customers traveling within Canada, but now it’s expanded to U.S. flights. They plan to include international destinations soon.
With the Air Canada app, you can track your checked items from check-in to the aircraft and through connections. If you need to check mobility aids, you can even confirm they’re loaded securely before the plane takes off.
The tracker has a “What’s Next” feature. It tells you the next step for your belongings, like where to pick up your bag, whether at a transfer point or the end of your journey.
In case your baggage is delayed, the app will let you know and help you file a report right from your phone. You can also arrange delivery, saving time waiting at the baggage counter. You’ll get a confirmation with a file number and a link for updates.
This tracking feature is part of the Air Canada app, your go-to for managing your journey. It lets you book, check-in, get flight updates, airport maps, and more. Download the Air Canada mobile app for free from Apple’s App Store or Google Play.
