Manipur Chief Executive Biren Singh asserts that the sudden proliferation of novel hamlets at an alarming pace across the state poses an existential peril to the autochthonous populace of Manipur.

Communicating through his X platform, CM Singh expresses, “The abrupt proliferation of new settlements at an alarming pace across various locations in the state poses an existential threat to the indigenous population of Manipur. The numbers and data eloquently convey the severity, and I reiterate, politicizing this pivotal and intricate issue will lead us to deterioration.”

In an assembly discourse, Manipur’s CM Biren Singh articulates, “Since 2005, the number of emergent villages in Churachandpur district reached 560, Kangpokpi 542, Chandel 296, Tengnoupal 258.”

Additionally, in the confined vicinity of Langol, approximately 1015 novel patta lands were identified, the CM supplements.

The Manipur Legislative Assembly reaffirms its resolution from August 5, 2022, underscoring the imperative of implementing the National Register of Citizens (NRC) within the state.

The assembly posits that the NRC is indispensable for safeguarding Manipur’s interests and contributing to the nation’s welfare.

The determination to press the Indian Government for expeditious NRC implementation underscores the assembly’s dedication to upholding Manipur’s security and integrity.

The assembly calls upon all citizens to champion this initiative in the pursuit of erecting a resilient and prosperous Manipur for successive generations.

Addressing his X audience, Manipur’s CM conveys, “Today, the Manipur Legislative Assembly took a momentous stride by reasserting our resolution endorsed on August 5, 2022. We firmly believe that the execution of the National Register of Citizens (NRC) in Manipur is pivotal for shielding our state’s interests and contributing to our nation’s greater good.

The decision to implore the Government of India to expedite NRC implementation reflects our steadfast commitment to ensuring Manipur’s security and integrity. I implore all citizens to rally behind this endeavor as we endeavor to construct a more formidable and prosperous Manipur for posterity.
