Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal made a fervent appeal to the citizens of the capital, urging them to cast their votes in favor of the INDIA bloc in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Emphasizing the need for effective representation in Parliament, Kejriwal assured the electorate that their concerns, particularly the issue of inflated water bills, would be prioritized if the alliance’s candidates were elected.
During a spirited protest organized by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) against escalated water bills, Kejriwal injected a touch of humor by suggesting that his governance amidst alleged hurdles created by the BJP merited a Nobel Prize. Underscoring the importance of supporting the INDIA bloc, he stressed that it would equip Delhi with a robust defense in Parliament, shielding the city from potential adversities.
In a critical assessment of the current seven Members of Parliament, Kejriwal lamented the insufficient attention given to the genuine issues plaguing Delhi. He pledged that, upon securing victory, the INDIA bloc would promptly address the concern of inflated water bills within 15 days of the Lok Sabha Elections, providing relief to the affected citizens and preventing any unwarranted actions by the Lieutenant Governor.
Addressing the predicament of approximately 11 lakh families grappling with inflated water bills, Kejriwal assured them that they need not pay these erroneous charges. He attributed the hindrance in resolving the issue to the BJP, accusing them of obstructing the AAP government’s water bill settlement scheme and impeding several other city projects.
Despite facing challenges, Kejriwal reiterated his commitment to serving the people and underscored that his perseverance in addressing these concerns should be acknowledged through public support. The INDIA bloc’s alliance with the Congress, marked by a 4-3 seat-sharing arrangement in Delhi, was highlighted as a strategic move to ensure a stronger presence in parliamentary proceedings.
Kejriwal concluded by assuring the implementation of a one-time settlement scheme for inflated water bills and staunchly defended Delhiites against alleged injustices by the BJP. Responding to criticism from the Delhi BJP, he dismissed corruption allegations, stating that the water bill settlement issue was raised to divert public attention. He confidently declared that the BJP would face consequences for their actions, drawing a parallel to the historic downfall of Ravana.
In summation, Kejriwal urged voters to rally behind the INDIA bloc for a more potent voice in Parliament, promising a proactive approach to addressing the genuine concerns of Delhi’s residents.
