In a horrifying and deeply unsettling case, 34-year-old Adam Montgomery from New Hampshire is accused of committing a heinous crime against his own 5-year-old daughter, Harmony. Prosecutors have revealed a disturbing series of events surrounding this case, shedding light on the gruesome details of Montgomery’s actions.
According to authorities, not only did Montgomery allegedly brutally assault and cause the death of Harmony, but he also engaged in macabre behavior by bringing parts of her body to his workplace. Working as a cook and dishwasher, Montgomery is said to have stuffed Harmony’s decomposing remains into a tote bag, a bag that he regularly took with him to work.
The shocking revelation emerged that Montgomery stored the bag containing evidence of the crime in a workplace freezer, alongside food items, during his shifts – a detail that underscores the disturbing nature of the crime and the callousness of his actions.
Harmony’s disappearance in 2019 remained unknown to the police until two years later. Prosecutors outline a tragic sequence of events leading to her death – Montgomery allegedly assaulted Harmony multiple times after she had two bathroom accidents in the family car. The Montgomery family, facing eviction, was living in their car during this period.
As Harmony cried in the backseat, Montgomery continued with his routine, driving, having a meal, and even consuming drugs. The heartbreaking discovery of Harmony’s lifeless body occurred hours later when their car broke down.
Further revelations by prosecutors indicate Montgomery’s calculated efforts to hide his daughter’s remains. These attempts included placing parts of her body in a friend’s car trunk, a cooler in his mother-in-law’s house, a freezer, and a ceiling vent in a homeless shelter.
In a disturbing twist, Montgomery purchased a saw and blades and rented a moving truck in an apparent attempt to dispose of Harmony’s body, seemingly believing he could evade justice if her remains were never found.
Currently serving over 30 years in jail on weapons charges, Montgomery vehemently denies the accusations, alleging that his wife fabricated the story to protect herself. Meanwhile, Kayla Montgomery, Adam’s estranged wife, is serving an 18-month jail term for perjury, adding layers of complexity to this tragic and deeply distressing case.
