The Manipur government has officially incorporated nine villages into the Jiribam district, following the issuance of a formal notification. The villages—Charoi Khullen, Charoi Khunthak, Aglapur, Oknachang, Akhui, Awangkhul, Gularthol, Mongkot, and Panglein—were previously part of the Tamenglong district.

The decision to include these villages in Jiribam district was made to improve administrative efficiency and ensure better governance and development in these areas. The state government emphasized that the move is part of its ongoing efforts to streamline administration and bring government services closer to the people in remote regions.

Officials noted that the reorganization aims to address the developmental needs of the incorporated villages more effectively, facilitating better access to government schemes and infrastructure projects. The notification has been welcomed by local leaders who believe that this administrative change will contribute to the overall progress of the newly incorporated villages.

The reorganization is expected to enhance the delivery of essential services, including healthcare, education, and infrastructure development, in these areas. The Manipur government has reiterated its commitment to addressing the needs of its diverse population through targeted administrative reforms.
